Grow a Website

Convert, capture, and compound website traffic

Takes you from a website with traffic it under-converts to a research-driven growth engine that captures more leads, persuades more buyers, sells a sharper offer, and earns referrals. It orchestrates its eight skills phase by phase, asking you the decision questions at every step and recording every result in your project's docs/ folder so the journey resumes across sessions.

What is the Grow a Website journey?

You already have the traffic; this journey makes it pay. Eight named phases run from discovering why visitors leave, through capturing the not-ready majority, clarifying and sticking the message, adding proof, rebuilding the offer and engineering shareability, to connecting the lifecycle — each result written to docs/ so progress compounds.

Grow a Website Without Buying More Traffic

Before spending on ads, you want the traffic you already have to convert and spread.

Grow our website's output: diagnose conversion first, capture the 97% who leave, sharpen the message and offer, then make results shareable. Ask me before each phase and keep the plan in docs/.

One prompt runs it

When to use Grow a Website — and when not to

Reach for it when

  • Grow leads and signups without a bigger ad budget
  • Capture the 97% of visitors who leave without converting
  • Sharpen the message and offer so the traffic you have converts
  • Make results shareable so visitors bring visitors
  • Tie the whole lifecycle together into one marketing plan

Reach for something else when

  • Visitors are barely arriving at all — Grow a Business builds the demand this journey assumes is already there.
  • The page is broken rather than under-optimised — Improve a Website ranks usability, speed and hierarchy defects first.
  • All you need is a quiz or assessment funnel — Scorecard Marketing is a single skill that ships one.
  • Your growth question is an app’s retention rather than a site’s conversion — Grow an App is the sibling journey.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the Grow a Website journey?

Run npx skills add wondelai/skills/grow-website --global. It takes about 30 seconds and needs no account. The Grow a Website skill then works in Claude, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Codex, Cursor, OpenClaw and Hermes Agent — anything that reads the open agentskills.io format — and your agent loads it on its own when a task calls for it. It is free and MIT-licensed, and the source is at https://github.com/wondelai/skills.

Which skills does the Grow a Website journey run, and what does it produce?

It orchestrates 8 skills across 8 phases — CRO Methodology, Scorecard Marketing, StoryBrand Messaging, Made to Stick, Influence Psychology, $100M Offers, Contagious, 1-Page Marketing Plan — asking you one decision question per phase. Each answer is written to your project's docs/ folder (docs/WEBSITE.md, docs/METRICS.md, docs/EXPERIMENTS.md, docs/MARKETING.md, docs/POSITIONING.md, docs/OFFER.md, docs/GROW-WEBSITE-PLAN.md), so the journey survives across sessions and you keep the reasoning, not just the output.

The phases have names — does that mean they run in a fixed order?

The order is a recommendation, not a lock. Discovery runs first because “Discover why visitors leave” tells you which later phases will pay, and “Connect the lifecycle” runs last because it needs the middle phases’ wins to link together. In between, reorder freely — plenty of sites should run “Capture the not-ready 97%” second, because a lead-capture asset banks value while everything else is still being tested.

What exactly is the not-ready 97%?

The visitors who will not buy today however good the page is — researching, comparing, or six months from a budget. The Scorecard Marketing phase builds an assessment that trades a genuinely useful result for a contact, so those visitors become a list instead of a bounce. It writes the concept to docs/WEBSITE.md and docs/MARKETING.md, where the closing lifecycle phase picks it up.

How is growing a website different from growing the business?

Scope. This journey works one surface — the site — and its levers are conversion, capture, message, proof, offer and shareability. Grow a Business works the whole machine: outbound pipeline, mainstream adoption, network effects, the number the company runs on. They meet at the offer and the marketing plan, and docs/OFFER.md and docs/MARKETING.md are deliberately shared so one journey’s output feeds the other.

I paused after phase three. What do I lose?

Nothing, provided docs/ is committed. docs/GROW-WEBSITE-PLAN.md holds the eight phases and their status, and the message work from StoryBrand already sits in docs/POSITIONING.md. Coming back weeks later, the journey re-reads what was decided and opens at “Make the message stick” rather than re-asking whether a stranger understands your site. If the site changed meanwhile, say so and it re-checks the earlier phases.
