Create a Website
Blank page → high-converting website
Takes you from a blank page to a live, high-converting website, built message-first, then design, then conversion. It orchestrates its ten skills phase by phase, asking you the decision questions at every step and recording every result in your project's docs/ folder so the journey resumes across sessions.
What is the Create a Website journey?
Message first, design second, conversion last — that order is the whole point. Ten phases take a blank page to a live site, locking the one-liner before anyone picks a typeface and ending at a cold design review, with every answer recorded in docs/ so you can stop and resume.

Resume journeyWhen to use Create a Website — and when not to
Reach for it when
- Build a new marketing site or landing page from scratch, in the right order
- Get the message and one-liner locked before any design work
- Create a design system, typography, and signature moments that convert
- Engineer objection handling and lead capture into the site
- Ship only after a cold, end-to-end design review
Reach for something else when
- The site already exists and under-converts — Improve a Website diagnoses live behaviour instead of starting from nothing.
- You only need the homepage copy rewritten — StoryBrand Messaging on its own does that in an hour.
- You are designing an application interface rather than a marketing site — Refactoring UI and UX Heuristics fit better.
- There is no business behind the site yet — run Create a Business so the message has something true to say.
Frequently asked questions
How do I install the Create a Website journey?
Run npx skills add wondelai/skills/create-website --global. It takes about 30 seconds and needs no account. The Create a Website skill then works in Claude, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Codex, Cursor, OpenClaw and Hermes Agent — anything that reads the open agentskills.io format — and your agent loads it on its own when a task calls for it. It is free and MIT-licensed, and the source is at https://github.com/wondelai/skills.
Which skills does the Create a Website journey run, and what does it produce?
It orchestrates 10 skills across 10 phases — 1-Page Marketing Plan, StoryBrand Messaging, Made to Stick, Top Design, Web Typography, Refactoring UI, UX Heuristics, CRO Methodology, Scorecard Marketing, Steve Jobs Design Review — asking you one decision question per phase. Each answer is written to your project's docs/ folder (docs/MARKETING.md, docs/CUSTOMER.md, docs/POSITIONING.md, docs/WEBSITE.md, docs/DESIGN.md, docs/EXPERIMENTS.md, docs/CREATE-WEBSITE-PLAN.md), so the journey survives across sessions and you keep the reasoning, not just the output.
Can I skip the message phases and start with design?
You can, and the journey will let you, but it will keep asking. The 1-Page Marketing Plan and StoryBrand phases produce the one-liner that later phases spend their time expressing — Top Design decides what makes a page unforgettable, and it needs to know unforgettable about what. Skipping ahead usually means redoing the visual work once the message settles. If the copy is genuinely locked, paste it into docs/POSITIONING.md and start at Top Design.
What does the Steve Jobs design review gate actually do at the end?
It is a go/no-go before you call the site finished. The phase reviews the whole thing cold against the standard of insanely great rather than merely shipped, and records the verdict in docs/WEBSITE.md. Failing it does not send you back to phase one — it names the specific weak moments and points you at the phase that owns them, usually design or conversion, and you run that one again.
Is this for a founder or for a designer?
Both, for different reasons. A founder gets an order to follow and a reason to resist starting from a template. A designer gets the audience, message and objections settled in docs/POSITIONING.md and docs/WEBSITE.md before the first artboard, plus the conversion and lead-capture phases that design briefs usually omit. What it is not is a substitute for taste — it sequences the work and asks the questions; you still make the calls.
How is this different from just reading the website guide?
The guide, “How to Create a New Website with AI Skills”, is a linear read with copyable prompts — good for understanding why the message comes before the typeface. The journey runs that same sequence as a conversation: one decision question per phase, ten phases, and a docs/CREATE-WEBSITE-PLAN.md tracker that survives closing your laptop. Use the guide to decide, the journey to execute.
