What is the 1-Page Marketing Plan skill?
1-Page Marketing Plan is a free AI agent skill built on Allan Dib’s book. It walks your agent through a 3x3 grid — target market, message and media before the sale; capture, nurture and convert during; experience, lifetime value and referrals after — then scores how many of the nine squares are filled specifically enough to execute.
Key concepts from The 1-Page Marketing Plan your agent applies

When to use 1-Page Marketing Plan — and when not to
Reach for it when
- Marketing is a pile of tactics somebody suggested — a newsletter, some ads, a conference — with nothing connecting them.
- You spend everything acquiring new customers and almost nothing on the ones who already trust you.
- A good month happened and nobody in the company can say which activity actually caused it.
- Someone asked for the marketing plan and what exists is a document nobody has opened since it was written.
Reach for something else when
- One square is the entire problem — go straight to the specialist, like Scorecard Marketing for lead capture.
- You already know the plan and need the words — StoryBrand Messaging writes the message square.
- The question is which market to fight in and how to win — Good Strategy Bad Strategy comes before marketing.
- You need company-wide cadence, roles and quarterly priorities — that is Traction EOS, not a marketing plan.

Frequently asked questions
How do I install the 1-Page Marketing Plan skill?
Run npx skills add wondelai/skills/one-page-marketing --global. It takes about 30 seconds and needs no account. The 1-Page Marketing Plan skill then works in Claude, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Codex, Cursor, OpenClaw and Hermes Agent — anything that reads the open agentskills.io format — and your agent loads it on its own when a task calls for it. It is free and MIT-licensed, and the source is at https://github.com/wondelai/skills.
Which book is the 1-Page Marketing Plan skill based on?
It packages The 1-Page Marketing Plan by Allan Dib — serial entrepreneur and small business marketing strategist. The skill distils the book's method into instructions your agent follows while it works, covering target market (pvp index), crafting your message and lead capture systems. It sits in the Marketing & Messaging part of the library.
What are the nine squares?
Three phases of three. Before: target market, message, media — who you serve, what you say, where you say it. During: capture leads, nurture leads, convert. After: deliver a world-class experience, increase lifetime value, orchestrate referrals. The skill only counts a square when it is specific enough to act on, so “we post on LinkedIn” fails the media square while a named segment with a written avatar passes the target one.
Do I need to have read the book to get value from this?
No. The grid, the PVP Index for choosing a niche, and the scoring rubric all travel with the skill, so your agent can fill and grade the plan without you having read a page. What the book adds is Dib’s argument for why each square exists — especially the case that the After phase is where most businesses leave money on the table — which is what you will need when someone wants to spend the whole budget on ads.
How does it overlap with StoryBrand Messaging and Obviously Awesome?
It is the container. Your message is one box on a nine-box grid, and it happens to be the box where the other two do their real work: Obviously Awesome picks the category and the best-fit customer, StoryBrand writes the narrative. Use this skill to find out which squares are empty, then send the specialists into the ones that need depth. Used alone it tends to produce a complete plan with a shallow message.
Is this only useful for small businesses?
It is built for owner-operated businesses and it shows — the plan assumes one person can see the whole machine, which stops being true past a certain headcount. For a company with separate demand-gen, product-marketing and customer-success functions it works better as a diagnostic than an operating document: run the grid, find the empty square, hand that square to the team that owns it. From solo to roughly mid-size, the single page is the point.
